In order to improve the competitiveness and stability of the graduated students and the quality of teaching and research, and to promote efficient university-industry cooperation, the following future plans are set as the goals.
(1) With the national policies in Taiwan that emphasize the positive development in technology, the education of professionals in the area of electrical engineering, and the acceleration of industrial development and the upgrade of Taiwan’s electrical, electronic, and informational areas, the development of high-tech related products are focused for better competitiveness in the international markets.
(2) Among the features of the graduate school, the programs experience an overall improvement on the educational level to generate more first-class professional electrical engineers and technical personnel.
(3) The educational quality is upgraded by drafting the best professors and technical personnel to promote a positive improvement in the educational area, expand the development of cooperative education, related industry research and the development of cooperative work.
The future plans of the electrical engineering department rely on the development of actively using existing resources, employing extensive efforts in the development of green technology to benefit the environment, and developing new med-care technologies. More efficient green technology and Energy Information and Communication Technologies (EICT) are developed in the first period (2012–2014), and the development of new med-care technologies is preceded in the second period (2015–2017). In the first period, it is expected to make use of EICT, Energy, Information and Communication Technologies, as developing a platform for integrated circuits (IC), make use of all kinds of advanced communication mechanisms, state of the art sensing equipment, nanotechnology, and finally research, and make advances in energy management and energy saving control. From the results of the first and second periods, it intends to make applications to the med-care technology (or HC, Health Care), by using similarly highly efficient sensing equipment for receiving human body signals through signal processing integrated circuits (ICs) and using different communication devices for data transferring in between, and to send the information to the healthcare monitoring center. A five-year plan has been adopted, which contains two principal axes of EICT and HC technologies. Both of them are in the trending list for scientific researchers around the world looking for conclusive results about i-Cloud technology. The two axes are better explained in the graph below.
